DescriptionCTG Inc. has been a highly respected provider of contract personnel throughout the United States for more than fifty years.Currently, our valued client in Whippany, NJ has an opening for a Consumer Insights Manager. This position is a 3-month contract, with the potential for continuation after the initial contract.The maximum W2 hourly pay rate is $125.00/hr., based on experience and ability.DEPARTMENT/TEAM DESCRIPTIONConsumer Insights is part of the Analytics & Insights team within Bayer Consumer Health. We support the Marketing team in better understanding consumers, their lives and the role of our brands. We design, implement and deliver the right research to guide business/brand decision-making at every touch point.POSITION SUMMARYThe Consumer Insights Manager role is responsible for providing strategic insights and actionable recommendations for one or more Consumer Health brands/businesses via the design, execution and interpretation of research studies. These recommendations frequently have a significant and direct impact on the divisions ability to successfully meet its volume and profit goals. By satisfying these information needs, the CI Manager will be the critical resource for the businesss ability to listen to, understand, and respond to the needs of the consumer.POSITION DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESProvide strategic insight and consulting to assigned extended brand teams by effectively applying a deep understanding of consumer and healthcare professional needs and motivations to the challenges and opportunities facing the business.Develop recommendations that positively impact the assigned brands ability to successfully meet its volume and profit commitments based on the acquisition of custom and syndicated data. Key areas of input include contributing to elements of the Marketing Excellence process to define brand opportunities and consumer targets, guiding decisions on advertising creative, providing input into how to optimize new product development and determining whether or not to pursue specific new product opportunities. Additional areas addressed may include: Strategic positioning/messaging, optimal allocation of the marketing mix, pricing, packaging, medical marketing, product restages, in-store program effectiveness, and competitive defense strategies.Partner with extended team members, including advertising agency (particularly account planning), shopper/sales research, digital marketing services, and media agencies (among others) to ensure that an understanding of consumer needs and motivations inform business activity throughout the purchase cycle.Contribute to the on-going development of annual learning plans and budgets to ensure that market research efforts support business objectives.Manage external research vendors to ensure maximum ROI for all projects. Educate them about our businesses/issues and working style/needs. Work as a collaborative partner to design and execute the most appropriate research study. Keep them apprised of all project developments. Negotiate favorable pricing and timing on a per project basis. Ensure that all research adheres to highest possible quality standards in design, execution, and analysis.REQUIREMENTS/PREFERENCESEducation Requirements:BS/BA degree or equivalent experience requiredMasters preferredSkill & Competency Requirements:8+ years of custom research experience3 or more years must have been spent conducting research on the manufacturer or retailer sideFamiliar with Nielsen/IRI/Spectra/other syndicated data analysis toolsAbility to provide independent, objective viewpoint based on data and business experiencePreferences:Experience in OTC or CPG business preferredTravel Requirements:Limited travel as needed to execute research studiesCTGs Benefits Plan allows you to select insurance coverage that best suits your lifestyle, and take part in our savings programs and educational plans.
